Oct 12, 2008 - Or the guy introducing him since he said he signed him for this gig.

AppoCC119 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Bullshit! Do you claim that if I as a Swedish citizen would be arrested if I said something bad about my primeminister in front of him? Please, that is just so ignorant.

mrmultidextrous Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - If you were arrested in the US for saying something bad about politician x, that would be a complete violation of the founding principles of the US constitution. Not that I haven't been a bad boy myself but the matrix is real and there are cracks. Isaias 1:16 : Lavamini mundi estote auferte malum cogitationum vestrarum ab oculis meis quiescite agere perverse. You can look it up. Speaking of cracks, Blaise Pascal saw a few, I don't know if it's the Christian god but there is a big boss.

mrmultidextrous Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Yup, you could see Morpheus stop laughing when he saw the camera on him. Ironically, it's just that movie that struck me very deeply. What is wrong when I man suddenly stops laughing when he sees a camera on him? There is something very wrong..

Deathwyng Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - exactly, he is there because BUSH invited him.

conserve1energy Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - To Appocc119: I meant to write "in SOME other countries", pardon if there were any misunderstandings. I never mentioned your Sweden country in particular.

mrmultidextrous Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Well, I can't believe Bush knew what was coming. The only thing I don't get in Colbert's speech is the yoghurt and butter thing. Then again.. hmm, the density of butter is 911 kg a cubic meter. No way!

Deathwyng Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - LOL... he was just making fun of how bush doesn't believe what is obviously the truth, but what people tell him is the truth (and by people i mean cheney)

mrmultidextrous Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - ..and the cream rises to the top, of course, in America where upward mobility is the American dream.

ThatGamesGuy Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - "I believe you the right for someone to have their own religion - I believe there are infinite paths for everyone to praise Jesus our infinite savior" Haha, Colbert you are hilarious. It's all bout Jesus, folks.

chrisorrock Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - This speech, parts 1 & 2, is possibly the single most brilliant, fearless and subversive speech ever spoken in public. It predicted the downfall of the Bush administration and much of America along with him. In most other countries, Colbert would have been thrown in prison for exposing an idiot-despot like Bush. Thank goodness there are some American ideals still left intact. Someday, this speech will be required viewing in history classes. That will be a better day and a better America.

cowtuber Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Maybe he's just self conscious.

cowtuber Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - lol I can't believe Colbert was invited to this thing. He is insulting the president pretty much to his face in front of thousands of people, this is great.

Maarten26 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - I think he agrees with the message Colbert is bringing and is admiring it...However (and I think this is the the thing you're referring to) the issue for all who were in that crowd that night is: like a test who dare to stand up for the truth. I wouldn't say he failed this, I think he, maybe like most of the rest, needed some time to let it sink, since it's nothing like they had (let sunk) for a long time. That was - at least- a good sign. Better than most reactions. Peace! Good comment btw!

Maarten26 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Then again, his reaction could have been to something else..It's all about editing, you know this. But assumed he -all of the sudden- realised there was a camera on him does contribute to your point. I agree. But, once again: maybe Colberts comments were as truthfull as they were daring and obvious for some, like a comfirmation, it does kinda make you a target when you laugh openly at this, especially in hollywood. But there's no excuse for holding back on this, that IS Colberts message!

mrmultidextrous Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Yup.. that was a invitation to assassinate Bush, disguised as an invitation to assasinate Colbert himself.. I think Hitler assassinated himself.

mrmultidextrous Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Yup, wow that censor is working well, again, that was an invitation by Colbert to assassinate Bush, disguised humourously as an invitation for an attack against himself, perhaps referring to the fact that Hitler killed himself. Carnivore must be overloaded now. and no.. DO NOT take this seriously, unless B somehow engineers a third term.

mrmultidextrous Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - You're right, Maarten, it's not possible to really draw any conclusions.

Maarten26 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - I thank you kindly. I am Maarten and I approve this response. I do here on make the solumn pledge that humble I, WILL try to become the first European president. I'll strive to indoctrinate the world with reason and insight. To tyrannize with justice and compassion. Haha, I say: 'V' for Obama; remember the 5th of november...I seen no reason why Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot...(I think that's movie is an appropriate parallel). Ha!

mrmultidextrous Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - I don't think humble people often become high ranking politicians.
