Oct 13, 2008 - If anyone remembers, this song was used on the closing credits of a tabloid show in the late 80s/early 90s called Personalities.

thejudge99 Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - while a truly great altoist, his technique makes me wanna say 'Kids, don't try this at home!' All works for him, though.

boricuatrumpet69 Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - thats pretty damn funny, but truedukoff d9but i know from experience almost any wide metal brilhart with a baffle will do the trick

jammasterjayz Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - possible that his technique may appear unique due to having polio as a child, but he is clearly the greatest modern alto player after Desmond...hands down...and invented the sound that thousands have tried to replicate, like the boney james', warren hill's, nelson rangell's, eric darius's...all of them...imitators in many ways.

0Magik8 Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - And he still uses that sax mic to this day...

gordo222Tube Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - David Sanborn was the "final straw" for me... Michael Brecker hooked me way back in the `70's, but after hearing D.S. I went to the music store and bought my first Sax. 16 years later, I'm still trying to get closer to his sound. I have the same quest with S.R.V.'s sound on the Strat, but I've come MUCH closer in my attempts. - To be fair, David keeps moving the goalposts by getting better! Great respect to these awesome musicians!p.s. Lance Armstrong - 1 nut, D.S. - 1 lung... go figure!

saxblast Says:

leebobdaplaya Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - How do Candy Dulfer and Boney James compare? I dig all three pretty close, although I got started listening to Spyro Gyra's Jay Beckenstein and fell in Love with the alto sax.

zeppelin2392 Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - Also remember Hank Crawford, David first tried to imitate his sound afterall

osaosar Says:
