"In the 1960's an anti-war movement emerged that altered the course of history. This movement didn't take place on college campuses, but in barracks and on aircraft carriers. It flourished in army stockades, navy brigs and in the dingy towns that surround military bases. It penetrated elite military colleges like West Point. And it spread throughout the battlefields of Vietnam. It was a movement no one expected, least of all those in it. Hundreds went to prison and thousands into exile. And by 1971 it had, in the words of one colonel, infested the entire armed services. Yet today few people know about the GI movement against the war in Vietnam. The Vietnam War..."Visit www.sirnosir.comProduced, Directed and Written by David Zeiger.Read reviews at Rotten Tomatoes:http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/sir_no_sir/

Oct 13, 2008 - At least she was willing to give support to the right side as opposed to a neo-con retard like you, who thinks every dissendent is a commie.Personally, I admire anyone who's willing to spend months fighting in tiny cramped tunnels against a military with overwhelming technological superiority and firepower. The fact that the NLF (often incorrectly called VC) endured so much while the ARVN wouldn't put up a 5 minute fight is proof enough for me that they were the right side.

Oct 13, 2008 - Actually most of North Vietnam has been decimated before Linebacker II and the Airforce in the 60s complained that all targets had been destroyed. While I love overwhelming firepower, its seems extremely unlikely that North Vietnam, who couldn't control the NLF in any way, gave in after a few weeks of bombing after losing so much in the last decade. Furthermore, the Airforce was taking huge casualties so North Vietnam's best interests were not to negotiate and wait for the operation to fail.

Oct 13, 2008 - I loved this movie so much I had David Zeiger send me 20 copies to hand out around LSA Anaconda back in '06. Everybody who watched it passed it around when they were done with it. It was pretty popular after a while, but never as much as "Loose Change". When we weren't on convoys or guard duty we watched a lot of 'underground' documentaries.

Oct 13, 2008 - This was a great video... I got it from my library. There is a tremendous difference between the Vietnam war and the war in Iraq. Our soldiers are now ALL VOLUNTEERS.

DisidenciaTricolor Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - pushed into the war by socio economic pressure.

Scotty7617 Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - Yes, but many people volunteer because they believe the lies they're told about war by idiots who glorify it and join thinking it's a noble thing to do only to realize they were lied to.Volunteers have even more of a right to be angry than draftees because they willingly went only to discover the lies.

Oct 13, 2008 - I think you meant to type NVA (not NLF) and VC is also correct.NVA = North Vietnemese ArmyVC = Viet Cong (they were the south vietnamese who organised and fought against the US and allied forces in vietnam.NLF = How a dislexic person spells the NFL>>The fact that the NLF (often incorrectly called VC) endured so much while the ARVN wouldn't put up a 5 minute fight is proof enough for me that they were the right side.

Oct 13, 2008 - It matters. It is a direct reflection of what the people want. The bigger the chasm between what we vote for and what happens or wins in an election, the more likely people will be called to action to take more measures to safeguard this country's as a country for we the people-not we the rich, not we the corporation, not I the dictator. It's especially important to vote locally-your impact is greater and you generally have the opportunity for more involvement in the issues you're voting about.

SummaSunny Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - Hell yea madisonhack! Voting works only when people participate.

SummaSunny Says:

Oct 13, 2008 - This is inspiring. The people we trusted to end the Iraq war aren't doing a damn thing about it. Time to do it ourselves.

Oct 13, 2008 - The Vietnam war was beyond unjust.South Vietnam had a terrible government led by crooks, the last thing America should have even thought of doing was helping them.
