Her job is NOT like singing in a shower or to a web camera. - I would say, many people can sing just as good as Tarja, and even better, and same with Anette. Nightwish has never had a vocalist that is such a great singer that noone could do their job as well or better. It's their MUSIC and the whole group that's special. Not a single instrument.

I know there are more talented singers than Anette, and more talented singers than Tarja. I don't like Tarja's voice that much, she's okay but to me her voice sounds cold. I simply love Anette's work on some old nw-songs like Higher Than Hope and Ever Dream, she does justice to those beautiful songs and gives them that little something I never heard with Tarja.

Oct 12, 2008 - I was trying to say, that not anyone who can sing "almost like Anette" are able to do that job on stage, if you've ever sung a solo even on a little stage, you know it's different from singing in your own room... NW sounds quite massive also on stage, and just to get use to their sound and ear monitors takes some time! And I'm sure I don't have to tell you that nw-guys knew that when they were looking for a new singer...

Tarja and cold? oh my.. in my opinion she was puting some part of soul in her songs because there always is so deep feelings, because it touchs many peoples heart, sweet voice like angels :)))))person who has beautiful voice can sing on the stage perfectly too, if it was so difficoult to sing on stage to people who has gift in singing, in the world whould not be such many good singers :)

Oct 12, 2008 - Yes, I agree with you very much. :) But not EVERYONE who has a beautiful voice, can sing "perfectly" on stage with a metal band. - I totally respect your opinion and I respect Tarja, but I just don't like her voice and that's it. There are many old nw-songs that I find simply perfect and genius, but her voice was the factor I didn't like as much as their music itself. Now it's almost opposite; f.ex I don't like Cadence of Her Last Breath very much, but Anette's interpretation kind of "saves" it.

But unfortunately I don't like her solo album. I've tried to listen to it, but it doesn't give me anything! She's doing great, but musically it's quite mixed and a little bit unfinished. - But what about Tuomas' music, do you like it??
