Jul 7, 2008 - i have to disagree. not to say i dont like fireworks-- they're great. and its a great way to celebrate the new year or independence day. but when you think about it, thousands of tax dollars being blown into the air for a 10 minute show is a bit ridiculous. money that could be better spent on expensive fuel for school buses or new equipment in schools is rather shot into the air for a quick light show. seems a bit wasteful to me.

Jul 7, 2008 - i do realize what you were focusing on. And I realize that school systems are very much in need of more funding. I know this very well. But when I wrote that I was still in shock from seeing the Boston, july 4th show, and I have never had my jaw dropped low for that long in my life. I feel like it was an amazing experience. And everyone deserves to see that at least once in their life. People need to donate money to schools in addition to what they're obligated.
