Oct 10, 2008 - Yes also it was known that an A10 fucked up a Challenger tank killing all its crew. Friendly fire anyone!?

Shadowtech666 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - lol these bullets can have uranium armor piercing tips, these go through anything, and are devastating on even ships, not to mention aircraft.

Equanox214 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - not to mention people

kevinrocks2323 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - yes it is devastating to aircraft but sadly it will never get the chance because this gun is only fitted on the A10 thunderbolt which does not have enough maneuverability to combat even a 1970 MiG. So if it goes into combat with a real plane, a real plane would out-maneuver it and blow it to hell with a air-to-air missle.

ssgtakeo Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Have you ever seen an A-10 in close? They are far more maneuverable in a slow turning fight than almost any fast-jet. The tactic of turning on an attacking fighter and firing on it with the 30mm cannon is called the "Warthog stomp".

PrinzEugn Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Actually, the A-10 is extremely maneuverable, it's just not that fast. Apparently it also has a small IR signature as well.

ChronoLegionX Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - What the round basically does is upon impact the kinetic energy alone heats up the uranium and it literally burns its way through hardened steel...end of the line for the tank crew.

Shadowtech666 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - no, thats not basically what happens.Uranium melts at 2070* F and what your thinking is of the molten copper slugs in another air to ground weapon. The slugs "burrow" through 6 inches or armor and then by the time they are inside they cool and fragment, destroying everything. These slugs are aimed at a target by about a dozen homing launchers. Yes it sounds Sci-Fi but its real.

Shadowtech666 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - lol know ur aircraft.the A-10 has the "double tailplane" design, similar to the P-38. This gives it nearly as much maneuverability's as full vectoring surfaces. All it needs now is thrust vectoring.

LeQuack147 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - If that thing fires at you, don't even bother running...

bismarckkyle16 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - You guys are forgetting that the A10 is a bomber.

Smith0028 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - lol it is not a bomber it is a close air to ground support attack plane hence the acronym "A" if were a bomber it would be a B-10 it can just carry a shit load of bombs because of its needs

erol56 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Fuck you.

whoevertheheckitis Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Yes. But still its not a fighter. Thats what im trying to get to

nathanvillines Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - that kicked ass.

icanbenihilist Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Hopefully the last sound that many terrorists hear on earth.

coolohman Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - a a-10 can shoot 15000 rounds i 30 seconds

mrhoar Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Aren't these also called "tank killers"? I know during Vietnam they used them to take out vehicles and annihilate the NVA/VC when they finally discovered the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Also, I think they were mostly credited for the "Highway of Hell" during Operation Desert Storm.

Airforcedude73 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - um no it can't it's only able to fire about 4000 rounds per minute also dumbass think divide 15000 by 3 which is 5000 now dived that by 2 which egual 1500 now put that in time according to your round per minute and since the a-10 carries about 1200 rounds your saying that it can fire all of it;s rounds in about 3 seconds if that is the case then the a-10 should carry about 5000 rounds which is not possible

65DDTG Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - pwned by math lol

CMCommie Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Haha the buzz from the gun makes it sound a bit like a prop plane.

DANIAC262 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - A-10s were not in vietnam came out in like the 80s or sumthin

mrhoar Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Thanks for the info. So, which planes were used during Nam? I've seen pictures and footage of planes that look a lot like these used during that war.
