Jul 6, 2008 - you can't just "forget anorexia" by eating a piece of bread. I've had anorexia for 7 years and I just got out of treatment April 1st. It's not something that is so easy to overcome. So yes, that WAS an ignorant statement.

Jeffieboi Says:
Jul 6, 2008 - The hard part about an eating disorder is that you can't just turn it on and off. An anorexic can't just start eating, and a bulimic can't just start holding down food. Unless someone's had an eating disorder in their life...they'll never understand it, and they'll never know what it's like and how hard it is to overcome. I hope you get better and know that even in your '03 pictures you looked really good.

Jul 6, 2008 - this depicts my life aswell sadly. im 18. i like your timeline it shows the change, unlike all the other ones who jsut show skinny girls, what people dont realise is this is the true illness, its no longer about being skinny its what takes over our minds that destroys us. seeing your pics with your tube remind me of me and how far iv come. iv jsut come out of yet another relapse.struggling. but your last photo has given me hope that there is happness at the end. thankyou. take care

Jul 6, 2008 - i'm gonna sound so dumb for this. But, when I see a nice flawless skinny body, it makes me wanna not eat even more. But your video and other videos similar to it, seriously show the damage anorexia can do.Hope everything gets better for you.

Jul 6, 2008 - Not to split hairs, but only 200 people die per year from ana and bulimia combined in the US. 800 people die PER DAY in the US from obesity. So why are ana and bulimics pitied and obese ridiculed for their eating disorder? Obesity and binge eating disorder is far more harmful.
alixoxx Says:
Jul 6, 2008 - are you obese? if so, i understand your thinking, however if you are not obese, nor have suffered from any type of eating disorder, it is inconsiderate to comment on them. i'm sixteeen, and i have an eating disorder, and the fact that you can sit at your computer screen and say that it is wrong for people with eating disorders to be pitied offends me. yes, people with obeseity shouldnt be ridiculed, your right. but you are basing your opinion strictly on statistics. until you have expeirenced
metalfaust19 Says:
Jul 6, 2008 - I appreciate what you're saying, alixoxx, and I feel you mistook my point. I am not saying I don't pity people with these diseases, only that it's unfair to ONLY pity ones with certain diseases and ridicule others. No, I'm not obese, nor am I ana/bulimic, but my girlfriend of five years is now in the hospital for her bulimia and I've seen all the care and sympathy she gets, yet I see how easily my fat friends are ridiculed by society.
metalfaust19 Says:
Jul 6, 2008 - Further more, alix, I mean to say that while many more people die of obesity related causes, which is usually related to binge or overeating disorders, the money spent and campaigns geared toward fixing these problem is often misplaced. They basically tell obese people to "shut up, go exercise and stop eating" and are very cold towards them. The problem is that anorexia and bulimia are recognized as serious mental diseases, and overeating/binge disorders are basically mocked, yet more harmful.
