Oct 11, 2008 - True it's just a tech demo, but a lot of Square's Tech demos tend to end up going past the "tech demo" stages. I would like to a see a FF7 remake, but I also wouldn't..either way, SE is on a remake rampage lately, so it's bound to hit FF7 sooner or later.

Oct 11, 2008 - It was not 'cancelled'. It was never put into production. This video was shown to show the PS3's power when it comes to HD, computer-animated video. Final Fantasy VII is by far their nicest LOOKING game (probably their best game too) so they chose that one. An FFVII remake is undoubtedly due, but not for another ten years, at least. And the PS3 is not the nicest, cheapest or most reliabel console, but it is, by far, the most powerful.
