L. Ron Hubbard hopes that his Dianetics and e-meter would become a new psychotherapy, making wild claims that Dianetics can cure everything and solve every problem. However, when the organization gets sued for practicing medicine without a license, he changes his story and announces that his soup can is a religious artifact. Scientology becomes a religion and not a medical practice anymore.Kirstie AlleyAnne ArcherJennifer AspenJames Stacy BarbourLynsey BartilsonBeckJason Beghe (ESCAPED)Catherine BellKaren BlackSonny BonoDavid CampbellNancy CartwrightKate CeberanoErika ChristensenJeff ConawayChick CoreaTom CruiseSky DaytonDoug DohringJason DohringBodhi ElfmanJenna ElfmanRichard ElfmanDoug E. Sep 6, 2008 - The e-meter is the electronic version of snake oil- it adds a certain "scientific" credence to the procedure- although there is no scientific proof that it does anything useful- in fact the FDA asked that e-meters have a disclaimer on them saying this.Naturally if anything doesn't work in $cientology- it's always the fault of the poor sucker being audited- never the fact that auditing is just a covert way to induce compliance.

Sep 6, 2008 - I saw 2 videos about a month ago that were about e-meter dirty secrets(addiction to it)and one on how to pass CO$ tests with silicone based hand cream. I should have favorited the videos then, because now I can't find them. If anyone knows what the exact titles are of the videos, please let me know. Thanks.

Sep 6, 2008 - Awesome! I don't think I have ever heard anyone explain so well how the Church of $cientology brainwashing actually occurs. How you learn to censor your own critical thinking, willingly, gladly, so you will be a better $cientologist. Go Stacy! Thanks to those responsible for this video and interview.

Sep 6, 2008 - Psychologists say it takes the average person around 12 years to overcome a brainwashing. I consider christianity, cotholicism and judaism to be brainwashing cults also. This lady seems pretty cool actually.

Sep 6, 2008 - Police your own thoughts eh? Sounds like The Church is now writing the White House's agenda. Not republican/Bush bashing; nothing will change with the next Stooge in Chief....

Sep 6, 2008 - Scientology seems like a perfectly credible religion, in the world of Science Fiction. Hard to believe that the founder actually wrote (in its time) somewhat decent science fiction novels. Not hard to believe that human beings rolling through hard times will do almost anything for a change in scenery.

Sep 6, 2008 - Soup cans? WTF? That's unbelievable. I mean, I don't doubt it, I just can't believe people paid to confide in an auditor while they held onto soup cans hooked up to electrodes!!!! OMG

Sep 6, 2008 - It's a metaphor.

Sep 6, 2008 - "'Auditing' used to be called 'psychotherapy'"If we told this to the scientologists would their heads explode (oh please oh please)?
