Oct 10, 2008 - I love cosmology, im studing it right now and i think im getting the hnag of it but i have alot to learn

pradeeptubeu Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - New ways of thinking, whether successful or not are the basis for progress in understanding the unknown. Orthodox thinking, or progressing with existing theories and expanding them will only make us find observations to support the theories themselves.

Ultraliskojebca Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - I dont know much about cutting-edge cosmology, but for all that i've learned i predict it will all show up to be untrue, being just the surface of the real explanation, the real construction and origin of universe. I see it like we are in a point like: one is looking at an A-bomb explosion and he can describe it, count the power of shockwave and amout of radiation etc. but doesnt understand what made the explosion, how does the bomb work.

petrajohn2 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - no bomb. Maybe plasma all around creating indepndant systems

Ultraliskojebca Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - It was simply a metaphore describing what we know and that we do not know what stands bahint all this. Maybe not a good one, but thats because english is not my native language, so i need to adjust 'what' i say to my 'language' instead of adjusting the language to express what I'm actually thinking. I'm polish, if you care to know :)

Ultraliskojebca Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - behind - not bahint. I don't know how that happens... but it does too often

user164922 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - comment part1Please people, get educated - was about 6min into this part when they tried to tell that quasars need some "mystical" properties to generate the amount of light they actually do... The laws of nature, the relativity, the cosmic constant etc. they question in this movie, are well proven a thousand times.

user164922 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - part2To the end of that part they have to admit that one of the scientists interviewed has lost his workingplace and telescope-time because of his "new and revolutionary" way of research - well, thats just ok, because all this has been researched quite extensive and money, time and technology are very hard to come by for real scientists who "will" make a difference and discover NEW things.

user164922 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - part3Please get some REAL background before giving this kind of vodoo-science a good rating!Serious scientists are needing every support they can get to continue their long and hard work. Please excuse any mistakes in this text because english is not my native language.

GOAQ Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - You won't learn anything from this nonsense.

Scousar Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - This was one of the most thought provoking documentaries I've seen for many years, the producers deserve to be congratulated. The supression of free-thinking by the forces of orthodoxy is a serious problem in science, I see it here in cosmology and I see it in biology, it needs to be stopped and those who actively prejudice others on this basis need to be exposed.

Scousar Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Well clearly you didn't but how do you know that others wont? What factual errors did you see? please let us know.

hollow0rld Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Infinite expanses? ha ha universe is square![4 quarters of heaven]

junglelord Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - opinions are a dime a dozen and not worth a cent. I see a lot of worthless opinions...I see no scientific rebuttals. I see no scientific evidence to refute the fact we do not know it all.

budzbox Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - If science is truly a search for truth, I think a SERIOUS scientist would welcome any thoughtful postulate. Instead they are busy with their "long hard work" trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. PLEASE distinguish between mathematics and the scientific method.

lethaljesus Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - E. U.

artynz Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - This is a wonderful series. I have watched all 12 and they show very clearly that the big bang is bung.

Veon1 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - This is completely idiotic. Those last minutes are just blatant lies.I really hate these failed researchers who try to paint themselves as heroes/martyrs. If you have a new, different, *good* theory, people *will* listen to it. Sometimes too much [cough]string theory[\cough]... This guy is just a hack.

Percy203 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - hmmmmmmmmm.....Weird that you dont post what is actually wrong with it? please, i'm all ears.

Veon1 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - Yeah, I just love to go around saying that things are wrong for no apparent reason. I didn't list the lies because there are too many. To summarize, nearly everything from ~6:30 onwards is untrue. Is that good enough for you?

TheGodofReason Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - I agree, but only in that he says that ALL the recession data is flawed. Clearly he should restrict himself to the notion that there may be more than one red shift mechanism out there and let the enormously consistent Hubble law stand until he figures out the quasar puzzle. (see my video "The Thinking Man's Universe")

Percy203 Says:

Oct 10, 2008 - LoLSo I take it that you cant find any inaccuracies in it?Thats because the work that this documentary is based on has been confirmed, and has been stringently peer reviewed and published in leading astronomy/cosmology journals. Most work is attributable to the Burbiges, Arp, et al. Just search ADS for Arps work. And take a look at seyfert galaxy NGC 7319 and the associated redshifts, you may get a shock.
