Sep 6, 2008 - No disrespect, these guys obviously trained hard but they also took steroids, HGH etc. I happened to see Gerard Butler on the cover of a magazine shortly after the film's release and he looked about 175 pounds. Hmmm... Why did he lose 50 pounds of muscle so quickly?
Tek000 Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - hmmm it maybe happened. I think something like that they did to Christian Bale for Batman.
DedAimRvolvr Says:

baleheads Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - This was set in B.C. where there were no weights. At most they carried boulders and do lots of bodyweight exercises. The Spartans in the past are not supposed to be like bodybuilders. Just athletic muscular and strong.
waditdo1 Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - Kettlebells own i need to get another
Moremooremore Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - That sounds ridiculous. Mainly because the agent of a recognized actor liked Gerard Butler wouldn't allow their client to use HGH or steroids for one movie. Just as Jessica Biel noted in "Blade Trinity", this was all the product of hard work, protein, nutrition and athletic conditioning. You lose weight/size pretty fast if you don't maintain your training intensity or calorie/protein intake.
gshock3800 Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - Agents are probably the ones who arrange for the middlemen who supply "performance enhancers". Jessica Biel was just toned and slightly more buff than normal in Blade 3, so yeah she was probably natural. Butler, Bradd Pitt in Troy and other actors juiced probably for at least one cycle (4-6 weeks) to gain massive (20-40 lbs) muscle. Open your eyes, it's well known winstrol, deca etc. are used for actors prepped for certain parts. By the way, moderate short term steroid has very little risk.
ucocollegedude Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - ive done that kind of training and i will tell you that it is legit.
Moremooremore Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - I'm sorry gshock - but the idea that Bradd Pitt, a multi-million dollar actor, would have his health endangered by his agent is just crazy. I think too many people ignore the benefits of a skilled personal trainer, having 3 months to a year to prepare, and the finest coaches in the world can grant you. There are far too many conspiracy theorists out there when it comes to training, when it is well known that you can get amazing gains with the right combo of natural factors.
baleheads Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - Inspiring. I have to train this way
WoodenSwordFighter Says:
Sep 6, 2008 - yes but most people these days wouldn't know that and this get the point across that they are seriously strong.

Sep 6, 2008 - hey there. honestly, what do u guys think about a man who weights 170lbs and is able to do 15 pushups in a row with 120lbs person sitting on his back. all the way down all the way up. what do u guys think?
