Jul 20, 2008 - USA? Japan? Never! The people from Brazil are very sweet, very gentle. And they are very sensitive like this manha de carnaval song.

futboldeargentina Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - actually this song is Samba de Orfeu

Jul 20, 2008 - Beautiful!

aypianoman Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - This simple? Nothing is ever as simple as it seems. I mean, at this point in the film, Zeca (the one playing guitar) just took the guitar of Orpheus, someone he admired, who just died tragically falling off a cliff...and now that he has the guitar, he has the responsibility to play it in order to make the sun rise...So in the sense that it's simple on the surface but really quite complicated, life IS that simple! But what a great movie...

aypianoman Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - And why don't my comments ever go under the one i actually reply to? This is supposed to be a response to studyreligions's comment.

studyreligions Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - Yeah you bring up good points as I have never watched the movie... but taken by itself... you know, children, music, dancing, sunrise, beautiful view. But you are right!

aypianoman Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - Yeah. It is a truly beautiful sequence...and it is a beautiful movie. You should watch it! (Not to mention great music...)

Jul 20, 2008 - One of the great movie endings. Check out the final shot of HAROLD AND MAUDE -- one film whose ending was influenced by this one (and is equally beautiful). When you watch the end of BLACK ORPEHUS you can feel the spirit of the sixties beginning to awaken.

pitchick5 Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - How lovely life is when seen through the eyes of children...when I was a kid, my mom told me that butterflies were faries and they danced on the flowers because spring was coming. I think of my spring faries every time I see this part of the movie.
