The basic idea behind all string theories is that the fundamental constituents of reality are strings of extremely small size (possibly of the order of the Planck length, about 10−35 m) which vibrate at specific resonant frequencies.[2] Thus, any particle should be thought of as a tiny vibrating object, rather than as a point. This object can vibrate in different modes (just as a guitar string can produce different notes), with every mode appearing as a different particle (electron, photon etc.). Strings can split and combine, which would appear as particles emitting and absorbing other particles, presumably giving rise to the known interactions between particles. Jul 6, 2008 - maybe the strings are universes. Maybe it is a size-loop. Like having box 1 in box 2, while box 2 is into box 1. :p

Sarkoja Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Very interesting. Thanks for posting String Theory.

TXRebelOK Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - The condensed nature at the beginning of the universe is the cause of no atomic matter being able to exist. As the universe expanded things we able to cool do to the fact they had more room. The driving force behind the accelerating expansion of the universe is still unclear since Hubble's discovery of this phenomenon and Einsteins removal of the cosmological constant. It's really the space between objects that's accelerating apart.

TXRebelOK Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Arguing science proving or disproving God is always going to be in vain. Because science can not disprove the existence of God. It just merely makes the idea of God unnecessary. For example, I can make up a fictional creature like a unicorn. How do you prove a unicorn doesn't exist? You can say we know many of the horse like species around the world and it would be highly unlikely that a unicorn exists, but you can not prove with 100% certainty that it doesn't.

TXRebelOK Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - I can always make up a reason why we haven't found a unicorn. In the same way, I can always say theres a reason God hasn't proven his existence whether it be because of free will or whatever. It's extremely hard to disprove a negative like that. The idea of God is here to stay, which is fine by me as long as it doesn't corrupt novel ideas pertaining to the real world.

NDUBZ08 Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - It doesn't exist.

nenabermeo Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - pretty colours...

Dannydurangi Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - We call it dark energy and yes we have no answer as to what it really is and what causes it

EmergingPhilosopher Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Umm, How can you make up a Unicorn if its already mae up?

dnp97001 Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - In string theory, the string is the basic building block of everything. So to ask what a string is made of is the same as asking what's north of the north pole.

dnp97001 Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Dude, its not "demention", its spelled dimension.

teresatoneytm Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Wow you guy's will think I'm nuts but I believe in string theory ,unification and a higher power. Eventually people will figure out that every thing in this universe is going in circles from rain to electricity to time and space.

teresatoneytm Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - How do you know a unicorn is fictional? Maybe on another plant or time someone saw a unicorn and their subconscious remembered that image, if energy can not be created or destroyed then maybe we have many life times. If we have many life times why are they all on this planet? Do people really believe ours is the only planet with life?

teresatoneytm Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Your right it doesn't matter it all goes in circles. There's no beginning or end if matter is frozen energy when everything gets too hot we will just revert back to energy which cannot be created or destroyed

teresatoneytm Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - forgive my ignorance I really don't know much about this stuff and it sounds like you do so... if it's really the space between objects that's accelerating apart could it be said that it's accelerating apart in all directions? and if so what if it was really going in a circle just to big for us to see out that far?

teresatoneytm Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - okay so I'm thinking you would believe in general relativity but not so much quantum physics but I could be wrong. Can there be more than one reality? and look how long gravity worked before we figured out why or that it even existed.

Brock0129 Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - you seem to have a lot of questions. Read some Physics books before you make up your own theories.

TXRebelOK Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - I'm an Electrical Engineering student and I take courses in quantum physics, so yeah of course I 'believe' in quantum physics. We still don't understand how gravity works. Research quantum gravity. The difference between science like quantum mechanics and gravity vs god. Is that like gravity has an observable affect where as God has no observable affect and was just invented to help rationalize certain phenomena until we figured out scientifically how it works.

teresatoneytm Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Forgive me because I really don't know much about this stuff, just what I'm able to learn for free but there are so many people with so many different opinions how should I believe? I do find this very interesting. Do you believe in parallel worlds? do you believe in many life times? and why if we are all trying to figure it out do people seem to spent a lot of time arguing and not trying to teach each other or is that HOW they teach each other? Anyways you guy's rock keep up the good work!

teresatoneytm Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - I'm learning but until there is proof of anything I will probably continue to draw my own conclusions but please don't take it personally I'm just trying to have fun and get in on a discussion that is probably way over my head.

TXRebelOK Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - You have a lot of good questions. Most I can give you really nice answers for. Please personal message me all your questions so I can provide you with more detailed answers without a character limit. You should only draw belief from evidence and logic and you should question a lot (which you're doing)! Parallel universes or multiverse is a theory although it has more sound evidence than the God theory, it's still way outside the burden of proof. I'll explain in more detail if you PM me.

Jim1905 Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - It does accelerate apart in all directions, it's the inflation theory of the universe. They discovered this when they found that light received from distant galaxies was "red-shifted" due to the doppler effect. It is in every direction, kind of like if you imagine matter to be pennies glued on to a balloon and then as you blow it up they seem to move apart in every direction, but really the balloon is stretching between the pennies.

Reeferface Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - lol, 42 IS way simpler...

omgilikefish Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - actually, they have proven unicorns existhehe.... google it

TXRebelOK Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - If you're talking about the genetically altered deer with a horn that happened to be on the top of his head, then that's that the unicorns whose horn has magical healing powers I was talking about lol. But that deer is pretty funky looking!
