Jul 20, 2008 - Good to see the interplay on this cut. I'm really so glad they filmed this. Bravo! Anyone know where or how to get the Tony Bennett/Ruby Braff/George Barnes recording that Wayne speaks of in the notes?

Jul 20, 2008 - The Braff/Barnes Quartet recorded "Tony Bennett Sings Rogeres & Hart" on Improv Records in 1974. 2 disk 12" LP. John Guiffreda was replaced by Michael Moore on bass right after thia album was cut. Then John went with Tony as his bassist/road manager. The album has been released several times under various formats and labels and should be available. This was a truly classic group and I oughta' know, since I was there... They may have only been 2'6", but they were giant players all the same. lol

Jul 20, 2008 - Totally great. I discovered Barnes from a record of a concert where he did duets with Bucky Pizzarelli. Way too little of his work is available for modern listeners and as far as I know the tunes from this concert may be the ONLY existing footage. After years of playing with other guitarists (like Karl Kress and Pizzarelli) he goes with a hornsman. What a great combo. You can find his last concert on CD, highly recommended.
