Oct 11, 2008 - i think what it meant was they didnt see ships as ships.they saw random things in the water moving. it could have been anything since the notion of ships doesnt exist in their minds. so what they saw was things in the water. they didnt know those were ships or that they had the people inside.so imagine you never seen a plane before, if you see one you wont see a plane, to you, you see a bird or whatever you think your seeing. so you didnt see a plane.
