Oct 6, 2008 - Thank you very much but I found out my laptop doesn't have a FW import. Is there any chance to make a FW Audio card work? What brand could you suggest me? I am not really happy with m-audio but could be just the model I have to be bad.

dtguitarplayer Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - well...the whole thing is that firewire will work better for people...usb tends to lag more...but if you are going to shell the money out for the whole home recording studio go with a mac and make sure it has a firewire port...then you need to get the full version of any recording software...don't just stick with the light version a lot of the interfaces come with...cause you are very limited in what you can do...

Oct 6, 2008 - posers! go fuck yourself fox news! yeah like just anyone can go out and play music.. it's that simple pfff

Shadowlooker12 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I don't think the news reporter meant it like that,I think they rather mean that it's simple to get started no matter how difficult you think it is as far as cost and equipment go's.But of course we all know not everyone or anyone can just make music.

Oct 6, 2008 - lol when he almost dropped one of them on the floor! "aahm"! HAHAH xD!!

Gtrplyr1 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - THis is one of th reasons i have repect for Phish.. THey basically did all their promotions and production on their own..

Gtrplyr1 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - Also anyone looking to start up a studio at home.. look at personus products.. Very high quality(firewire) audio interfaces at a good price .. THeir is the presonus inspire which is good for peeps into electronic music techno/hiphop etc (Firewire two channel imputs with phantom power) THe presonus firepod (Firewire..8 channel inputs with phantom power and a midi input) good for live recordings...

optymaemcee Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I see a thousand dollar microphone and a pair of $1300 compressors, and a $2000 interface. I thought they said you didn't have to spend thousands... Well you don't, unless you want a decent sound. These guys know whats up though. Empircal Labs Distressors? F*ck Yea.

Oct 6, 2008 - Hey right on man!

drunktastic Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I like audix better than Shure SM58... old technology, ok sound, but has since been improved on. Audix om5 is pretty darn good, so is EV PL80 or Heil PR20, all comparable to the 58 but I like them better. Ribbon microphones like Cascade sound nice too if you don't want hyped treble. Smooth and natural. If you can scrounge $300, I also really really like the Electro Voice RE20. Works for vocals, guitars, bass cab, kick drum! Awesome mic!

GVike Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - That musician can't have a hit in today's "music industry". He ain't got "the look" or "the Timbaland sound" hahaha.End of sarcasm...

smash4686 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - $500 for a Delta 1010? My God this is old. I got a Fast Track Pro for 110 pounds. Live recording is a bitch coz you gotta have the right room. 'Putting studios out of business'? Not unless you want a decent recording. Dumbasses. I mostly work digitally but even I need a studio to master my tracks.

skileserik Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - i have been recording at home since the 90's. it was cheap back then too and it also sounded awful...

TheStrugglingArtis Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - what a dumb ass...one of the biggest differences in the pricier units is the ad/da converters!!

theman362 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - haha, funny when he says the higher end audio interfaces go "up to $500" hahahahahaa

snailovercello Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - This is stupid....man I hate the news. These jokers don't know what in the hell they are reporting about so why are they reporting. It takes years of experience to get a good sounding recording on your own. But that's fine...it's like a commercial that has the "news" to back it up, so it must be good info...right? Pleeez.

MichaelKhanTV Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - this is just for the noobs. home studios been around for years, its just more affordable now.

YuraB Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - recording at home licks balls.too much feedback from the mic.

LedKenji666 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - ok well.... WHAT THE FUCK IS COWBOY MOUTH ITS NOT A TOP BAND!

MrZeta007 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I think this guy is using autotune - he dont look like he can sing; and a music studio it wasnt - a hobby room maybe, just like mine.

drunktastic Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - At 3:23 in the video, it specifically says 500 FOR A STUDIO, not just the interface, you horse's ass. YOU are the one who did not pay attention.

drunktastic Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - Plus what working studio is going to use cakewalk? I don't even know of one that even has it. Professionals use Pro tools because its an industry standard. Not to say it's better, because there are better programs really, but that is the way it is. Unless your cakewalk can save a session in pro tools format, have fun rebuilding everything from scratch when you take a sonar made song into a commercial studio or try to mix down for master on a good board at the studio. Pain in the ass

goddogcattac696 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - what a pile of steaming yanky bollocks.

Chicago10281 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - Cowboy Mouth is a group out of New Orleans trying to make it in the music business!

Chicago10281 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - Anyone here ever heard of a Samson G-Track Microphone?
