Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is the projected winner tonight in the Florida Democratic primary. No Democratic presidential candidate campaigned in the state under an agreement between the campaigns and the National Democratic Party, leaving Florida Democratic voters to look at each candidate through the lens of national politics to decide who would make the best President. All things being equal, a majority of the voters in the Florida Democratic primary chose Hillary Clinton. The same thing happened in Michigan.Tonight, Clinton reiterated her pledge to work with Florida Democrats to seat their delegates. Hillary Clinton is the only Democratic candidate to pledge her support in making the votes and the voices of Florida and Michigan count.http://www.christiangrantham.com

Oct 11, 2008 - fair? kind of like how 48 states listened to the DNC and followed the rules? How about we let the Florida and Michigan delegates come to the Denver as uncommitted. Then the nominee, Obama can seat them as he wants to seat them. Then everyone wins. The states win, the people win, the delegate wins, the Democrats win, the tax payers win, and Clinton can still be a Senator. Lastly, Obama can be the nominee and eventually President in November of 2008.
john135246 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - how about uncommitted delegates? then both camps win.
john135246 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - how could they have chosen Obama in Michigan when his name wasn't on the ballot? Kinda hard to say Hillary won when she ran against herself.
ChiGuy1978 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - A record 1,750,000 Floridians voted in the Democratic primary. Hillary got 870,986 votes, nearly 300,000 more than Obama (also 170,000 more than McCain got in their Republican primary). Why should 1.75M Democrats be penalized for the mistake of a few politicians in Tallahassee? FL is a must-win state for Democrats in November and Obama is 20% below McCain in FL polling.

Oct 11, 2008 - HILLARY 2008! And I am an Independent! So interesting how Obama refused the re-vote and chooses to dismiss the people of FL and MI. I cannot vote for someone who wishes to disenfranchise the voice of hundreds of thousands of people. I can understand the MI trouble with his name not on the ballot, but in FL: COME ON!
larueprod Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Independent? Yeah suuuree. The Reps of those states along with the presidential candidate all agreed not campaign because those sites were being sanctioned for changing their dates. The candidates also agreed the delegates WOULD NOT COUNT. HILLARY AGREED! Obama wasn't on one ballot and many florida voters did not come out to vote because it wasn't going to count. Now you disenfrancise voters by not counting those who WOULD'VE voted as well as states who RESPECTED the rules.
Ataxicabdriver Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - I Think Hillary should get all the Michigan delegates and her share of the Florida delegates. It is Obama's fault his name was not on the ballot in Michigan. Do not disenfranchise the people of Michigan and Florida. The right to vote belongs to the people not the DNC.
halani Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Really guys its history all over again! Four hundred years on instead of the native complaining 'white man speak with forked tongue', we now have the Democrats complaining 'white woman speak with forked tongue'!!
NegativeProof Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - what a sad human being.

Oct 11, 2008 - Word!! I'll testify to that, can't get enough.
Betelgeuse3000 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Ever wonder if Hilary's tone would be the same if it were Obama that was trailing badly in delegates? What if Obama was the one seeking to allow the votes of states that he AGREED would not be counted under specific conditions that were known to him? - All the while Hillary honored the rules she signed... Shifting the goalposts, changing the rules, backtracking - call it what you will. It's cheating - plain and simple. How some people cannot see this is amazing.
marc3000 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Hillary agreed prior to the vote in florida and Michigan that they wouldnt count. She made a pledge exactly stating that. Why now is she going against her word?! does she have no honor or credibility? What type of example does she set to others-that she is ruthless and goes back on her word??!!
IntelligentAgent Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Quick question for you "count the votes" advocates. Are you aware that the candidates, Hillary included, originally agreed to "disenfranchise" FL and MI? Why do you think she's leading the charge to count the votes now? Do you think this is about the democratic process? This is not about FL & MI. This is about Hillary wanting to better her position. Go research why Clinton supporters sued to disenfranchise Nevada casino Voters. Didn't see Hillary screaming foul there.Think then type.
halani Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Haim Sabans largesse may have already have reached some of the 30 DNC rules committee members. Dont be surprised if they come up with an extra set of goalposts on the pitch! ie Hillary should get ALL the Michigan delegates as Obama was not even on the ballot. However the DNC rules changing committee session on the 31st May is going to be in public and televised live.So we might just get to see the devils squirming publicly, as there will be no place to hide in the open glare of the tv lights.
nobssagittarius Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Clinton would of clinched if the delegates counted. Only Bush and Murdoch can be behind this election.
paul91m Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Correct me if I am wrong, but did not Hillary sign a statement last September indicating that this election and Michigan would NOT count since it was in violation of DNC rules?? Case closed!
electrodyne1 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - It hurts Hillary's argument that counting MI and FL is the "fair" thing to do..when she is on record as not wanting them counted(that was when she was ahead). And,it sure does not seem "fair" that she also wants to disenfranchise individual voters (not just the delegates)in caucus states and she didn't want the absentee vote of troops in Iraq to count. That is also not "fair"..it undermines her fairness argument and gives amo to critics they say she is all about winning and not about America.
PinballWizard977 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - I think even if Hilliary gets these votes counted, its still a loss. You want to know why? 15 percent of that vote in Florida went to John Edwards. Since that primary, Edwards has dropped out and endorsed Obama. Other states that had delegets going to Edwards switched to Obama. This might hurt Hilliary if she gets the votes counted, and the 15 percent that went to Edwards will go back to Obama. 33 percent that Obama won + 15 percent from Edwards totals will only make it a 50-50 split.
bigbabyboy2000 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - my how we change the rules at midstream. if this is the case, let's take a vote on who wants to end the war. oh as monica lawinsky if she would have seat florida and michigan?

Oct 11, 2008 - i like that saturday night giggle. the election is about getting trash out of the whitehouse and getting our troops home
deserteagle997 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - The DNC is out of touch with Americans & obviously want to run the show without really caring about everyone's vote.Hillary won 60% of Michigan & Florida, but now these voters are told that they are only 1/2 a person with 1/2 a vote counting?!If the DNC was really concerned with voters' opinions they would have fixed this BEFORE the primaries were held. The media was just in love w/ a candidate that could do no wrong & now it's Wright/Pfleger/Farakan/Ayers/Rezko & 20 yrs of bad judgment
atisto Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - and again a state that counts how Florida goes to Clinton....
