Oct 6, 2008 - what! i saw your vids and i saw that you could talk after the first day. apparently i'm not going to be able to talk for two weeks. i'm so jealous haha. my underbite wasn't that severe either. bad luck i guess. i'm SO hungry as i'm sure you can understand. i just got my surgery on 7/8 and they told me liquid diet for 6 weeks but you're chewing after a month? ah! can you give me more details on when you started eating soft foods?

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - Yeah I was still a little drugged up the day after and I am a pretty talkative guy. You would be surprised what you can do when you set your mind to it. I started eating soft foods within a week or so like mashed potatoes and eggs.

Oct 6, 2008 - I will be having a similar surgery. Im pretty damn nervous about and still on the fence whether I should get it or not. One day i want the surgery, the next day I dont. did you experience the same hesitation during the course of the treatment? Also how old were you when you had the surgery?

foxworthy21 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - Very expensive but totally worth it especially seeing the before and after. Now you're looking really good buddy. Congrats!

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - 22, I had it this year.

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - thanks

Oct 6, 2008 - Hi im getting it done within the next 2 years. im having my upper jaw moved falwards and my lower jaw moved backwards. what did you have done ? i also have to get my jaw wired shut for 8 weeks. did you have this ?im a little worried. i have absoloutly no tolerance for pain at all! also can i ask was there much pain straight after the operation?thank you xxxx

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - no i don't have to do that. No pain for me but maybe I am just good like that.

blueboyic Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - i see where you stated that your jaw surgery cost $24,000. did your insurance not cover it? if so, why didn't they and did you try to appeal it?

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I tried but did not succeed. I went to the best and had good results. i have heard if you go to someone that is covered often they butcher you and you turn out ugly. I was happy with my results as you can see.

blueboyic Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - the results are definitely amazing. i have an appointment with my dentist in about 2 weeks to talk about my underbite, so basically i am at the very beginning of my journey. i know i need it, but there is no way i can afford it if insurance will not cover it. my question is, is it the manner the surgery is presented to insurance (i.e. the medical necessity) or do some insurances just absolutely do not cover the surgery in any regards? thanks a lot for your help, i appreciate it.

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - It depends on your surgeon. If you go see a surgeon that your insurance recommends and they also claim it is necessity then you can have insurance cover it. Not all surgeons charge the same amount. I wanted to go the best because it is my face we are talking about here. Anyway you can check out my website for more information on how I decided.

Oct 6, 2008 - I can tell you from my experience last year, I had jaw surgery for an underbite and had my upper jaw moved forwards and lower jaw moved back. My jaw was also wired shut for weeks. My jaw ached a bit after surgery but it was not unbearable by any means. Your jaw/mouth after surgery is somewhat numb after you wake up and continued with some numbness for a few months. But then it goes away and 1 year later, it's all worth it, I'd do it all over again. I hoped I helped..!

sam01x Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - Oh thanks so much!Ive been worried about it for a while because of not knowing what to expect but i feel a lot reasured.thank you for the comment and thanks you for your honesty! x

Oct 6, 2008 - how much did you pay? I'm italian and I'm thinking to go to Amerca to do the job, but I should ask a bank to lend me some money, because I'm not so rich. I hope that when I will look prettier life will be simpler for me.

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - $24,000

Wii4me Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I don't have an underbite but I think girls with underbites are cuter because they show off their smile more easily.

shimy1221 Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I have a small underbite problem. I've already had my teeth straightened with braces. Anyway, they need to move my upper jaw forward a bit. I"m very scared to be honest ! I can't beleive it costs that much in the states !!! Over here in Canada, it's $8000 to do it in a private hospital, and $6000 in a public one. The doctor told me I might have to wear braces again, but after furtther review, he said I won't need them again. There was no way that I would wear braces again in my life !!

Carynscakes Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - hey.. so im going to have surgery... i'm just starting the process like going to the ortho on wed.. but i was wondering if anyone could tell me like how long the process took. besides braces like from going to your first appointment to them saying you could have it how long was it before you could actually have the surgery ? a matter or weeks ?? thanks and you look great!

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - Put it this way. I started the process in Oct 2007 and had the Surgery in May. So it should take about 6 months. It is not going to be weeks

fatbrowne Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - I am still wearing them from after the surgery. I will keep wearing them until feb. I plan on making a video once I get them off. Thanks for commenting.
