Aug 20, 2008 - It's a song about knowledge so the wood floor is the kind in a school hall. The characters wearing dunces hats have no knowledge, or are thought not to have any. Then there are jesters (the class clowns?). The whole video has a medieval feel- a comment on the pre-Enlightenment, Renaissanece era? Perhaps Kate was making a point that she didn't go to university, or need to, to make a unique mark on the world: 'I want to be a lawyer, I want to be a scholar, but I really can't be bothered'.
