Jul 6, 2008 - So, I don't think you can really compare them because they were so different. Ginger had more challenges and obstacles to overcome when dancing with a partner and Fred danced more styles but without the obstacle of high heels. They were still equally amazing and delightful.

samgracesmom Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - It seems so innocent now, but in 1933 this dance was considered quite risque with the touching of foreheads and the swaying of their bodies as they smiled at one another. Fred and Ginger's on-screen chemistry was already evident.

Jul 6, 2008 - The Carioca was in one of the Oscar nomination in 1933.The whole scene is about 11 minutes.A classic by Vincent Youman

sunnitimes4 Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Can I confess that I find Fred rather...um, hot in this clip? I know that's not a term generally applied to the suave and debonair Mr. Astaire, but's definitely the vibe I get from this particular dance.

samgracesmom Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - Gosh, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that! Maybe it's the Latin music or the swaying of the hips, but there's a point in the clip (at about 1:46) when Fred is looking particularly seductive. *blush*

barcyorky Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - This is the cute, perfectly choreographed number which was meant as a "filler" to give the stars of the Movie, Gene Raymond and Delores Del Rio a break in filming. It ended up sporning two new stars and a partnership which lasted for 9 films in the 30's and a comeback film in the 40's (the only one in colour). Utter class!

YNGR Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - tee hee. The funny-looking Mr. A's little secret: that hidden sex appeal that emerges when he's dancing (and appeals to many of us even when he's not!).

thesundress Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - I completely agree with YNGR's comment below me..

Jul 6, 2008 - Fantastic! So there's someone else who thinks it! I completely agree with you three, he had a not exagerate and very...can I say "soft""?...sex appeal that came up expecially when he was dancing...

Ortica2 Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - You're right, samgracesmom: at 1.46 he's veeeeery sexy...

hebe21 Says:

LaPerssonandro Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - can anybody tell me what movie this is from please? Love his work, but, I gotta find it. ah man, this guy was legendary, and ginger rogers was so beautiful. Amazing, these guys... Wish we could back to the old-fashioned ways sometimes. Not the prejudices, just the class and elegance.

SoundsFromTheKitchen Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - If you look in the description, you'll see that it's from the 1933 movie "Flying down to Rio"

suremate Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - I have to say, I hated this movie. Cringe-worthy. There's a part where Dolores Del Rio slaps Gene Raymond on the face, so what does he do? lays her across his lap and spanks her! But I'm glad that it launched Fred and Ginger.

LaPerssonandro Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - oh right. lol. Thanks!

LaPerssonandro Says:

Jul 6, 2008 - I think it's both of them, cause if you look at Rogers she's giving back exactly what he's giving her. lol, I was watching it like... Wow *melt*. love how Roger's holds her dress, she's very feminine. They're both awesome.

krunk4theking Says:
