Jul 20, 2008 - Chiez 87: the reason you can't hear the drums and guitar is because you're not listening: they're there, but you *feel* them, rather than hearing them (as is proper with this kind of music). Maybe you're more used to lumpen rock ryhthm sections? Herb Ellis (guitar) and Jo Jones (drums) were both exceptionally subtle musicians, able to swing hard whilst playing quietly.
